We were tired after Disney Sea, but the next day we went back for more at Disneyland!

Inside the World Bazaar |
When we first got to Disney, we got onto Space Mountain, the best ride both of the days. It's a roller coaster inside a building. The ride is in the dark, with stars. It's fast and intense but not creepy, like being flung through the cosmos. We enjoyed the ride so much that we got a fast pass to ride it again later in the day. Space Mountain is in Tomorrowland, near the front of the park. The Monster's Inc. ride is in this area. There is also a store which sells stuff from Lilo and Stitch. I got a stuffed animal version of Stitch's girlfriend, Angel.

It's a Small World, Fantasyland |
We headed towards Splash Mountain to try and get a fast pass, but I think they were all out. Splash Mountain is at the opposite corner of the park in Critter Country. We stopped for some cinnamon churros, which I highly recommend. They also sell churros in Disney Sea. And you can get popcorn too in Disneyland. Then, we got onto Haunted Mansion. It was nice to get out of the heat. Haunted Mansion is in Fantasyland at the back of the park. It's a fun ride with a spooky subterranean feel.

We rode It's a Small World, then went on to Pinocchio. Pinocchio is a very short ride. It's great for families with younger kids who aren't ready for more intense rides. We went on it anyway. Small World is also great for families with younger kids. Nearby is Pooh Corner, a store devoted entirely to Winnie-the-Pooh. These are also all in Fantasyland. There are also several other storybook rides for the young and young-at-heart.

Adventureland is close to the front of the park. We rode Pirates of the Caribbean here. It's a water ride, nice to ride on a hot day when you're foot weary. I was extremely foot weary Saturday, even though I had only been in Tokyo for a few days. The waterfront restaurant adds a nice ambiance to the ride, and the water battle awed me.
Next to Adventureland is Westernland. Big Thunder Mountain is in this section, but we didn't ride it. The final sections are Toontown, which we passed, and the World Bazaar. The world Bazaar is modeled on a crystal palace/world's fair. It has a yesteryear America/Victorian feel to it and is comprised of shops and restaurants. Unfortunately, it does not have an international feel. If you are looking for the international after having been in Tokyo, Japan, go to Disney Sea. We ate at the Eastside Cafe in the World Bazaar. I had a corn soup, pasta, and a seasonal fruit tart. The corn soup was good. (I've discovered the joy of corn soup.) The pasta was okay. The tart was good but not moist.

Beginning of the parade |
|
Snow White, parade |
I think that's everything major, but I know we did ride Space Mountain again. We also saw a parade of floats all lit up after dark. It was a good chance to play with the settings on my camera. I learned that by raising the ISO, you can get better night shots.
Disney was crowded, although it probably could be much more crowded. None of the rides we got on both days were using the full capacity of their lines. Considering that some people wait three or four hours to get on a roller coaster, wait times were not bad, but a number of rides were at an hour or an hour and a half, which means you don't get on a lot, particularly if you don't get to the park early. But staying from opening to closing time would be exhausting, and you have to take into consideration train times. The trains come fairly regularly in Tokyo, but it took us an hour and a half or so between walking and taking the train to get home. Tokyo is big, and Disney isn't centrally located. Also, be forewarned, the trains leaving Disney late in the day will be full, as they say, like sardines in a can.
Overall, I liked the atmosphere of Disney Sea better, but Space Mountain topped it all. It is not possible to do Disney justice in two days. You really need two days in each park, and even then there are probably rides you won't get on. If you wanted to ride every single ride, you might need more time than that. There are also a number of shows and parades you could probably see. In both days, we only saw two parades, and one was while we were standing in line for Haunted Mansion.
Day Five: a well-earned day of rest.
