Sendai

A replica of the castle watchtower?
Castle base
In May of this year, we had a five day weekend which is called Golden Week. This September, we are having another five day weekend called Silver Week, at least informally. Saturday and Sunday I didn't do anything. Yesterday, I went to Sendai with a couple of friends. Sendai is the capital city of Miyagi, the prefecture north of Fukushima. We did some shopping. I bought a new charging cable for my iPad at the Apple store. Sendai is big, and there are a couple of shopping streets. There's a Baskin Robbins, a Mos Burger, a Gap store, a Tommy Hilfinger store, a Zara store, and many others. We ate lunch at a Thai restaurant. After lunch and a little walking around the shopping area, we headed towards the site of the Sendai castle. It was quite a walk for me, and once you get to the area, you have to climb (or drive) up a winding mountain road. The castle actually isn't there anymore. The site is really just the castle base, which may or may not be original, and an open area on top. There are a couple of monuments and some benches. It does give some great city views.
