Storm

The last couple of posts dealing with the storm we were in the midst of were written with  an attempt at humor and lightheartedness, based off of an assumption that the storm we were facing was just that, a big storm. Where I'm from, we don't get hurricanes. After I wrote the posts, I went on Facebook and learned that evacuations had taken place in my own town. I also went onto the Japanese Meteorological Agency's Website to check the storm progress. Almost all of Japan was under some kind of alert or warning. Fukushima was under a warning (there are alerts, warnings, and emergency warnings). Tochigi and Ibaraki which were the only two provinces on emergency alert last night are due south of Fukushima.
But. it wasn't until this morning when I learned from my mom that Japan was on the news. I looked onto the news, and sure enough, Tochigi and Ibaraki provinces were the hardest hit. When I looked this morning, they were talking about rescues. There were still a large number of people standed and some were even injured or missing.
Thankfully, neither my apartment, nor my school are at risk. Today, there is still a lot of cloud cover, but it has been dry.
