Food

Being in Japan, I have had the opportunity to try more strange foods than I ever would have in the U.S. At school every day, we get a soup (miso, sometimes), rice, pasta, or bread, cold vegetables of some sort, and a meat, and milk. Sometimes there's bamboo.
We went to a welcome dinner. I don't remember everything we ate, but here are some items: bamboo, egg custard, sashimi (raw meat), shrimp (with the head still attached), tempura, fried tofu, waterfowl soup, fresh fruit, sushi with raw meat on top, steak, vegetables, etc. It was a very formal dinner, always nice. I got to dress up, which I enjoy. I was thoroughly stuffed and my stomach was in sensory overload.
On another note, I'm going to have really bad table manners when I get back to the U.S., I apologize in advance for looking for chopsticks, eating my soup with a fork, slurping my noodles, speaking in Japanese during the meal, or downright picking up my dishes so they'll be closer to my mouth. Please be forewarned.
